Velma stared at the computer screen with a mixture of fear and curiosity. There, on the monitor, was Erica, dressed just like her. The tight turtleneck sweater hugged her body, emphasizing her curves, and the bright orange socks reached up to her knees. But what truly captured her attention was the way Erica's toes were wiggling in delight as the Creeper tickled her feet underneath the table.
The video was entitled "Erica gets her feet tickled by the Creeper in her socks!" and it was part of a series called "Erica in the Creeper's Clutches". Velma's heart raced as she realized that this wasn't just any old video; this was a recording of one of their investigations. Worse still, the Creeper had somehow managed to release it onto the internet without them knowing.
Shaking her head, Velma forced herself to focus on the task at hand. She had to get to the bottom of this. With a deep breath, she picked up the phone and dialed the number for Erica's Chronicles, the studio that had produced the video. A few moments later, the call was answered.
"Hello, this is Velma from Erica's Chronicles," she said, trying to keep her voice steady. "I need to speak to someone about a video that's gone live without our permission."
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the line, and then she heard rustling as if someone had picked up the phone. "Velma, this is Max," came a deep voice. "I'm one of the producers here. What can I do for you?"
Explaining the situation, Velma told Max about the unauthorized video and their fear that it might jeopardize their investigation. She listened intimately as Max expressed his concern and assured her that they would take immediate action to remove the video from the internet.
"Thank you, Velma," Max said. "We'll get to the bottom of this, don't worry. In the meantime, maybe we should discuss what happened during the investigation that led to this video being released."
As it turned out, during their undercover operation, Velma and the others had been unaware that their secret cameras had been disabled by the Creeper. With no evidence to back up their claims, they had been forced to rely on their own observations—and those observations had been recorded by the Creeper's hidden cameras.
Feeling a shiver run down her spine at the thought of what else might be out there, Velma agreed to meet with Max and the rest of the team at Erica's Chronicles to discuss the next steps in their investigation. She knew that it would be a difficult task, but she was determined to find out who was behind the Creeper and put an end to his nefarious activities once and for all.
