Whitney's Smelly Surprise for Jah
Whitney groaned as she opened her eyes, the bright sunlight seeping in through the windows making her squint. She stirred on the couch, realizing that she was alone in the living room. Her stepsister, Jah, was nowhere to be seen. A nagging feeling in the pit of her stomach told her that something was off.
She sat up slowly, glancing at the clock on the wall. It was ten thirty, ten minutes after her curfew. She swallowed hard, wondering what Jah could have been doing out past curfew. Suddenly, she heard a quiet clicking sound from the front door. Her heart pounded as she jumped off the couch, hurrying towards the door.
As she reached it, she saw Jah's nervous face peeking through the peephole. Her brows knitted together in confusion. "Jah?" She whispered, her voice barely audible.
Jah flinched, turning to face her. "Um, hi Whitney." He mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
Whitney's confusion turned to alarm. "What are you doing here? It's after curfew!" She hissed, glaring at him.
Jah shifted uncomfortably on his feet. "I, um, I was just-" He stuttered, looking away.
"Just what?" Whitney demanded, crossing her arms over her chest.
"I was just going to grab something from my car." Jah said quickly, his voice trembling.
Whitney rolled her eyes. "And you thought you could sneak out past your own sister?" She scoffed, shaking her head. "You're lucky I didn't wake Mom and Dad up."
Jah swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing nervously in his throat. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause any trouble." He mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
Whitney narrowed her eyes, considering her options. She knew that she could easily tell on Jah for breaking curfew, but something told her that there was more to this story. Plus, she didn't really want to get in trouble with her parents either.
"Fine." She said finally, crossing her arms over her chest. "Since you admitted it was your fault, I won't tell Mom and Dad."
Jah let out a relieved breath, nodding gratefully. "Thank you, Whitney. I really appreciate it."
Whitney smirked. "Don't mention it, little brother." She said teasingly, nudging him playfully with her elbow.
Jah winced, rubbing the spot where she'd nudged him. "Ow, Whitney!" He whined, pushing her away.
"Come on, Jah." Whitney said, rolling her eyes. "I know you're not a little kid anymore. You can take a little teasing."
Jah scowled at her, folding his arms over his chest. "You're such a brat, Whitney." He muttered under his breath.
Whitney grinned cheekily. "And you're such a baby." She shot back, poking him in the side.
Their playful bickering was interrupted by a familiar sound. It was the smell of something foul wafting towards them. Both siblings raised their eyebrows, noses twitching in disgust.
"What on earth is that smell?" Jah asked, wrinkling his nose.
Whitney smirked, stepping closer to him. "Why don't you come a little bit closer, and see for yourself?" She challenged, arching an eyebrow.
Jah hesitated for a moment before taking a tentative step towards her. As he did, he caught a whiff of the nasty smell emanating from Whitney's feet. His eyes widened in shock as he realized what was happening.
"No way!" He exclaimed, taking a step back.
"Oh yes, way!" Whitney retorted, sticking her foot out towards him. "Now you get to smell my stinky feet for breaking curfew."
Jah winced, reluctantly bending down to sniff Whitney's sock-clad foot. The smell was overpowering, like a combination of sweat and rotten eggs. He gagged, trying to get away from the horrible stench.
"I'm sorry, Jah!" Whitney laughed, enjoying her brother's discomfort. "But you brought this on yourself!"
Jah groaned, rubbing his nose with the back of his hand. "I get it already!" He complained, standing up straight. "Just tell me one thing."
Whitney raised an eyebrow, curious. "What's that?"
"When do I get to go again?" Jah asked, grinning cheekily.
Whitney rolled her eyes, shaking her head. "Never. Ever." She said firmly, sticking out her hand. "Deal?"
Jah hesitated for a moment before shaking her hand. "Deal." He agreed, still sniffing the air around him.
As they headed back inside the house, Whitney couldn't help but wonder what other punishments she could come up with for her little brother. The thought of it sent a shiver of excitement down her spine.
"Jah?" She said suddenly, turning back to face him. "Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about feet?"
Jah blushed, looking away. "They're fine, I guess." He mumbled, avoiding her gaze.
Whitney grinned, her mind already racing with ideas. "Just wait until tomorrow," She said darkly, waggling her eyebrows. "You'll see what I mean."
