Luna Banker, the stern and imposing bank manager, sat hunched over in her chair, her hands bound tightly behind her back. Sweat beaded on her forehead as she tried to remain calm and collected despite the growing panic within her. The atmosphere in the room was tense, heightened by every creak of the old wooden floor and every rustle of paper.
Across from her sat Alice, a woman she'd never noticed before today. Alice's eyes burned into Luna's skull, demanding answers to questions that threatened to topple Luna's carefully constructed facade. Alice pulled out a pair of white gloves from her bag and slowly slid them onto her hands. Luna's heart sank; she knew what was coming next.
"Luna," Alice began, her voice quiet but steely, "I know you took my money."
Luna's mouth opened to deny it, but before she could speak, Alice was already tickling her sides. Luna let out a high-pitched giggle despite herself, her body responding instinctively to the tickling fingers.
"Stop!" Luna gasped, trying to control her laughter, "I didn't take your money!"
Alice paused for a moment, her gloved fingers hovering just above Luna's ribcage. She leaned in closer, her hot breath tickling Luna's ear. "Tell me the truth, Luna. Where is my money?"
Luna squirmed in her chair, trying to escape the tickling fingers that were driving her mad with laughter. "I-I don't know!" she cried, tears streaming down her cheeks. "Please stop!"
Alice pulled her hand away, and Luna let out a relieved sigh. But as she turned back to face her accuser, Alice held up a small, red marker. Luna's eyes widened in horror as she realized what was about to happen.
"Mark her foot as ticklish," Alice said, her voice cold and detached. "So everyone knows."
With shaking hands, Alice drew a small heart on Luna's left foot, just above her ankle. It was a shameful symbol, but there was nothing Luna could do to stop it. She watched, helpless, as Alice stood up and walked towards the door.
"Wait!" Luna called out, her voice hoarse from laughing. "Please, don't leave me like this!"
Alice turned around, her face unreadable. "I'll be back when you're ready to tell the truth," she said, her voice stern. Then she was gone, leaving Luna alone in the room, bound and marked as the ticklish banker who had stolen from her clients.
