Zara shifted uncomfortably in her orange-colored outfit as she found herself seated in the front of the vehicle. The air conditioning was blowing directly onto her exposed legs, making her shiver slightly despite the warmth of the day. The lawdog, Rootdawg, had insisted on placing her in the front seat for their transfer to the maximum security establishment.
As they drove through the city, Zara's stinky feet began to kick into gear. She had been working on a plan to escape, and using her feet was the most effective method she'd come up with. Slowly, she started pushing her foot against the lawdog's leg, her bare foot sliding up the denim-clad thigh.
"Hey, what are you doing back there?" Rootdawg asked, glancing over his shoulder at her.
"Nothing," Zara replied nonchalantly, leaning back in her seat. But the game was already afoot.
For the rest of the ride, Zara continued to test the limits of Rootdawg's patience with her feet. She would brush them against his leg, or slide her toes up his shin, always stopping just short of actually touching him.
When they finally arrived at the security facility, Zara knew she had to act fast. She needed to create a distraction that would allow her to make a break for it. As they approached the entrance, she pulled out a piece of orange peel from her pocket and tossed it onto the floor mat of the car.
"What's that?" Rootdawg asked, looking down at the bright orange peel.
Before he could react, Zara lunged forward, her hands grasping for the door handle. But she hadn't counted on the strength of the lawdog - he managed to grab her wrists and pull her back into the car.
"You think you can escape that easily?" he growled, his eyes flashing behind his sunglasses. "You're not going anywhere, Zara."
Her heart pounding in her chest, Zara sat back in her seat, breathing heavily. She hadn't expected to be foiled so easily. But she knew that this was just the beginning of their journey together - and she would find a way to outsmart him yet.
