Thena looked around nervously as the man who had been tickling her feet suddenly released her bound hands. She took a deep breath, her heaving chest visible through the thin fabric of her mini-dress, and bolted from the chair. Her bare feet slapped against the cold, hard floor as she hurried towards an open door, her heart thudding in her chest.
The man shouted after her, his voice echoing through the empty warehouse, but she didn't stop to listen. All she could think about was escaping his clutches and getting back to safety. She felt his footsteps pounding behind her, getting closer with every step.
Suddenly, she burst through the door and out onto the street, gasping for air. The cold night air hit her skin like a slap, but she barely noticed. She looked down at her feet, noticing for the first time that she was still wearing her stiletto sandals. Taking a deep breath, she kicked them off, feeling the soft grass under her soles.
She ran, her bare feet pounding against the ground, her dress bouncing up and down with each stride. She could hear the man shouting behind her, growing more distant with every step. Finally, she reached a car and slid into the driver's seat, breathing a sigh of relief.
As she started the car, she realized with a start that it wasn't going to start. She slammed her palms against the steering wheel in frustration, feeling tears welling up in her eyes. She looked around, trying to think of what to do next. That's when she saw it - a payphone on the corner of the street.
Taking a deep breath, she got out of the car and walked over to the payphone. She had never done this before, but she knew she had to. She took the phone off the hook and dialed a number from memory. It rang once, and then a familiar voice picked up.
"It's me," she said, her voice shaking. "I need your help."
