Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness
Victoria looked at Polina, her red hair a stark contrast to the white marble floor they stood on. She sighed, shaking her head slightly as she spoke. "I love cleanliness, Polina, but unfortunately, you seem to struggle with it," she said, her voice dripping with disappointment.
Polina hung her head, knowing she had disappointed her mistress yet again. Victoria was always so meticulous, ensuring every surface was spotless and free of dust. It was a trait that Polina admired deeply, yet she seemed unable to emulate it.
"Alright, Polina," Victoria continued, "maybe if I show you the proper way to clean, it will help." She walked over to a small bucket filled with soapy water and picked up a sponge. "First, we'll start with the floor," she said, kneeling down and dunking the sponge into the water. "You see, you have to angle the sponge just right to get into all those hard-to-reach corners."
Polina watched intently as Victoria demonstrated, taking note of her every move. The redhead felt a bit of hope stirring within her; maybe she could learn after all.
Victoria stood up and wiped her hands on a nearby towel, gesturing for Polina to come closer. "Now, let's see if you can do it," she said, handing the sponge and bucket over to Polina.
With shaking hands, Polina took the items from her mistress. She knelt down and dipped the sponge into the water, trying her best to replicate Victoria's movements. At first, she couldn't seem to get the hang of it, but as she watched Victoria's every move, a sense of determination washed over her.
After several attempts, Polina finally managed to clean a small section of the floor. She looked up at Victoria, anticipating her reaction. To her surprise, Victoria beamed with pride.
"Well done, Polina," Victoria said, clapping her hands lightly. "Now, let's move on to the next step." She gestured towards a pile of shoes in the corner of the room. "It's important to keep the shoes neat and tidy as well. You never know when you might have unexpected guests."
Polina nodded, understanding the importance of maintaining a clean appearance at all times. She grabbed a brush and began to brush the dust from the shoes, taking her time to ensure they were spotless.
As she worked, Victoria watched with a satisfied smile. She knew that it was important to teach her servants the value of cleanliness, and it seemed that Polina was finally starting to understand.
After several minutes of diligent work, Polina finished cleaning the shoes and stood up to show Victoria her work. To her delight, Victoria nodded in approval.
"Excellent, Polina," she said, clapping her hands once again. "You've done a wonderful job. Now, as a reward, why don't you clean my feet?"
Polina's eyes widened in surprise, but she quickly knelt down in front of Victoria and began to remove her mistress's shoes. She gently massaged her feet, using a soft towel to wipe away any remaining dirt.
Victoria closed her eyes, savoring the sensation of Polina's touch. She couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that she had taught her redheaded servant a valuable lesson.
As Polina worked, Victoria couldn't help but think about how lucky she was to have such a devoted servant. Despite her initial struggles, Polina had shown tremendous improvement and was now an invaluable asset to her household.
When Polina finished, Victoria opened her eyes and looked down at her clean, sweaty bare feet. She smiled warmly at Polina.
"You've done a wonderful job, Polina," she said softly. "From now on, I have no doubts that you'll maintain this level of cleanliness in our home."
Polina looked up at Victoria, her eyes shining with gratitude. She couldn't help but feel a sense of pride in her work, knowing that she had pleased her mistress.
From that day forward, Polina worked tirelessly to maintain the high standards of cleanliness that Victoria had instilled in her. And as she did, Victoria watched with a satisfied smile, knowing that she had found a loyal and dedicated servant who would keep her home spotless for years to come.
